Boot’n & Shoot’n Honoree

We are humbled to announce we will be honoring Navy SEAL Jon ‘JT’ Tumilson at Boot’n & Shoot’n this year.

Jon had always wanted to become a Navy SEAL growing up, and enlisted in the Navy in 1994. He dedicated his career to serving our country, serving in SEAL Team ONE, SEAL Team Three, and ultimately making it through the arduous selection process to join the Naval Special Warfare Development Group SEAL Team SIX in the fall of 2010, just a few months before other members of that team took out Osama bin Laden.

Jon Tumilson was killed in action on August 6, 2011, during a mission in Afghanistan. JT was one of 30 U.S. military service members killed when ‘Extortion 17’ was shot down by enemy fire. Like JT, several of the 17 Navy SEALs killed in the attack were members of the unit’s famed Team 6. It was the single worst loss of American lives in the Afghanistan conflict, and the single deadliest day in the history of U.S. Special Operations Command.
